Signal Discovery & Expansion Engine¶
A repeatable framework and toolchain for identifying, validating, and onboarding new signal types into the ERI signal dictionary. Ensures the signal library grows systematically aligned to revenue milestones rather than ad hoc.
Purpose¶
The Signal Pipeline currently knows 221 signal types. This engine governs how new signals are identified (gap analysis), validated (council review), and added to the dictionary without breaking existing scoring models.
Signal Categories Targeted¶
| Category | Description |
|---|---|
| Partnership signals | Partner engagement, co-sell activity, certification events |
| Deal progression signals | Stage velocity, stakeholder engagement, competitive mentions |
| Financial inflection signals | Budget cycle indicators, procurement activity, renewal risk |
| Executive sponsor signals | C-suite engagement patterns, escalation events |
Process¶
- Gap analysis — identify signal types not yet in dictionary that correlate with known revenue outcomes
- Council review — multi-LLM + internal expert evaluation of proposed signal validity
- SOP authoring — extraction procedure documented before pipeline implementation
- Pipeline integration — new signal wired into hybrid extraction layer
- Validation — signal tested against historical data before production promotion
